Iaconelli Finishes 4th in BASS Angler-of-the-Year Standings

Iaconelli came into the first BASS postseason in 11th place, and was given little chance of dethroning points leaders Skeet Reese and Kevin VanDam. Mike's win at the first event, the Berkley Powerbait Trophy Chase catapulted Mike from 11th into 3rd, unfortunately for Mike, a 2nd place finish by Skeet Reese kept the points lead just out of reach. While Kevin VanDam finished with a solid weight, only about 3.5lbs. off the winning-weight, he finished in the middle of the pack.

To conclude the season, Kevin VanDam dominated the Alabama River. Making long runs and catching big bags fast, Kevin won the final event and subsequently the Angler-of-the-Year title. Mike, on the other hand, made short runs (within view of the fans at blastoff on the final day) and caught big bags fast to finish 4th in the event and 4th in the Angler-of-the-Year points standings.
