Iaconelli in Second After First Day of First Bass Postseason

Mike Iaconelli brought 14lbs. 12oz. (including the 4lb. 11oz. big bass) to the scales on the first day of the Berkley Powerbait Trophy Chase. The Trophy Chase is the first of two events to determine the 2009 Toyota Tundra Angler of the Year from the top 12 anglers of the regular season. Iaconelli trails Tommy Biffle by a scant 4oz.

Mike's favorable first day weight moved him from 11th place coming into the event all the way up to 4th. Mike said of the BASS postseason, "There is not a lot of pressure on me and that is a good thing. I honestly think it settles me down. There is no reason to be conservative and to know you can fish for everything you have is a good feeling. I'm shooting for the AOY and I know I have nothing to lose."

The 12 anglers launch for the final day Sept. 13th at 6:15 at Libby's Place/Lake Jordan Marina, and weigh-ins for the second and final day begin at 4:30 Central time.
