Iaconelli Makes the Top 12 Cut at Guntersville

BASS announced the 2009 post season, along with the requirement to quality; finishing in the top 12 in the AOY standings. Mike Iaconelli (who was in 22nd place entering the STA-BIL Southern Challenge) is looking to improve his odds of attending that post season with a strong finish at Guntersville. Iaconelli has maintained position in the top ten every day at Guntersville, and goes into the final day in third place with 80lbs. 2oz. (11oz. Behind second place Marty Stone, and 7lbs. 7oz. behind leader Aaron Martens).

Mike landed matching 27lb. 5oz. bags on days 1 and 2, to secure his place in the top 50, the field of anglers who fish on Saturday. Mike landed a solid 25lbs. 8oz. on day 3, when 22+ lb. Bags were far less common amongst the field, to make the cut to the top 12, who fished today. The Southern Challenge concludes today at the 5pm ET weigh-in.
