Iaconelli 3rd After Two Days at Wheeler Lake

2003 Bassmaster Classic Champion Mike Iaconelli landed 17lbs. 1oz. on day 1 at Wheeler Lake in Decatur, AL. He trails leader 2008 Bassmaster Classic Champion Alton Jones by only 12oz. and 2004 Bassmaster Classic Takahiro Omori by 7 oz.

The field was slated to be cut to the top 50 this afternoon, but because of high winds and unsafe boating conditions, the tournament day was canceled. Tentatively the plan appears that the full field of 100 will fish on Saturday, with the plan still uncertain for Sunday.

The forecast looks pleasant for Saturday, but storms and high winds are forecast to return on Sunday afternoon.
