Ike Lands 12lb. 13oz. Monster to Lead Day 1 at Amistad

Mike Iaconelli leads after Day 1 of the OPTIMA Batteries Battle on the Border on Lake Amistad. A 12lb. 13oz. bass helped anchor a 27lb. 9oz. bag, which gave Ike the lead by 2lbs. 5oz. over Gary Klein. Ike did not do well in practice, and credited the nearly 13lb fish and another approx. 8lb. fish for saving him from the middle of the pack.

All the excitement and adrenaline left Ike nauseous after landing the fish. Vomit followed shortly thereafter. At the weigh-in Iaconelli shared, "We all come out here and try to win, but a fish like that, we live our whole life to catch one fish like that. That memory, even the throw up, will remain in my mind forever."
