Mike fished a blue/chartreuse Frenzy crankbait over four different pods of hydrilla growing along points in 10 to 12 feet of water. Using a 7-foot Team Daiwa cranking rod and Millionaire reel with 10-pound Berkley Vanish line.

I needed the wind to blow and it didn't, but I think maybe I cleaned out the place the previous three days. It was a classic pre-spawn scenario. I'd wind the crankbait down into the grass then rip it out violently. That's when most of the strikes occurred.
