Iaconelli Finishes 6th and Extends Bassmaster Angler of the Year Points Lead

Iaconelli closed the deal on his 4th top 10 finish this season at Lake Oneida this weekend. With over 60 lbs. in 4 days, Ike was in the center of a top 10 separated by only 5 lbs. His strong finish boosted him over 100 points in the Angler-of-the-Year race ahead of #2 Dean Rojas, who finished 38th at the Oneida event.

The next two events may play to Ike's advantage. Champlain, like Oneida a quality mixed population of smallmouth and largemouth, is also one of Ike's favorite lakes. In 2005 Ike sealed his first win in the FLW on the Potomac River, which is the site of the following Bass Event, Capitol Clash.

BASS ends the season on Table Rock, which is where Ike finished 77th last year, after coming into the event #2 in the points race behind Marty Stone, but only a few places ahead of winner Aaron Martens.

The next event, BASS Champion's Choice starts Thursday July 13th on Lake Champlain.
