Pursuit Channel Welcomes New Episodes of Iaconelli's "Going Ike"
Monday, April 3, 2017
Glenwood, AL – Nearly one week ago, just hours after being filmed striking and landing one of the largest bass in the 47-year history of the BASSMASTER Classic, the Greatest Show on H2O, Mike Iaconelli directed the raucous final-day weigh-in crowd, and bass fans live streaming the ceremony all across the world, to look out for brand-new episodes of his smash-hit "Going Ike," now running on Pursuit Channel.
Together with the stunning growth in satellite and cable television, the rise of the internet and the recession-proof popularity of outdoor activities, Iaconelli's unmitigated skill and exuberance for catching fish, particularly big bass, have made him one of the most engaging and well-known professional fishermen in American history. Born in south Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, raised by his mother, his uncle and his loving grandparents, Ike grew up with summer fishing trips to the Pocono Mountains central to his youth. Soon after high school, he founded a local fishing club, Top Rod Bassmasters, and in less than a dozen years he'd moved forth from homegrown competitions to capture the BASSMASTER Classic (2003) and B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year (2006).
His reaction to the glistening giant he wrestled from a field of submerged truck tires at the Classic on Sunday, March 26, 2017, was vintage Ike: come-from-behind reality show gold that cannot be faked.
"Ike's the original high-energy bass professional and youth-movement icon," said Rusty Faulk, CEO of the Pursuit Channel. "We're very excited to recognize such an amazing talent, to help present 'Goin' Ike' to one of the world's largest audiences engaged in outdoor television."
Through the second quarter of 2017, "Going Ike" can be seen Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. and Saturdays at 6:00 a.m. exclusively on Pursuit Channel.
The Iaconelli announcement comes directly on the heels of a surge of newsbreaks by Pursuit Channel, who recently added the multi-million home AT&T U-verse to its market-leading distribution footprint and made Pursuit HD available to all DIRECTV HD customers.
