Man, what an experience. To leave the frozen tundra of Jersey, go to an even COLDER location and catch open water smallmouth was an experience I'll never forget. The one thing that was missing early on was the size. We found plenty of smaller smallmouth but those 3 / 4 pound class fish were doing a fantastic job of eluding us...until we made a small but key presentation change. You really never stop learning in this sport!!!
