Mike "Ike" Iaconelli recaps his performance at the 2017 Bassmaster Classic tournament, held March 24-26, 2017 at Lake Conroe. Mike finished in 6th place, marking the 10th time that Mike has finished in the top 10 in his 18 Bassmaster Classic appearances. Those finishes include a win (2003), 2nd place (2009) and 4th (2013). Mike also nearly made the top 10 in 2011, when he finished 11th at the Bassmaster Classic in the Louisiana Delta. In this bass fishing video, Ike talks about the baits and tackle he used to finish 6th at the 2017 Bassmaster Classic.

What lures/baits was Mike Iaconelli fishing at the 2017 Bassmaster Classic?
Mike's primary pattern was fishing deep off-shore, looking for hard-bottom areas, where fish were migrating into and out of spawning areas. He caught his baits primarily using 2 baits:

2. Mike also fished a shakey head using a VMC Swinging Rugby Head, Red Bug Berkley Havoc Larry Nixon Bottom Hopper 6.25" Soft Plastic Worm. Mike fished this bait on a 6'6" Medium Heavy Abu Garcia "Ike" Finesse Series Spinning Rods, the Abu Garcia MGX spinning reel, spooled with 15lb. Berkley Trilene Professional Grade Braid & 10lb.
