Breaking Ice for Winter BASS! -GOING IKE Bass Fishing Video

We’re not waiting for spring.

In this episode of Going Ike, Vegas and I literally break ice to get on one of our favorite lakes and chase cold-water bass in 35–39° water. When the water gets this cold, bass slow way down. They lay tight to the bottom, get dark “winter spots,” and won’t chase a bait far.

That’s when you go slow and low.

Today we’re using micro jigs and Ned rigs, dead-sticking and dragging bottom while watching fish react on forward-facing sonar. Vegas has the LiveScope dialed in, and you can see in real time how these winter bass behave when the water temperature drops into the 30s.

If you’ve ever struggled to get bites in the winter, this one’s for you.

Break the ice. Slow down. Fish low.
