Tube Jig vs Ned Rig: Which One Catches More Bass? Bass Fishing Video

Subscribe on YouTube

Folks at home, this might be the TOUGHEST matchup we’ve had yet in the Versus Series — the old-school TUBE JIG versus the NED RIG!

These are two of my favorite finesse techniques of all time, and honestly, both of them flat-out catch fish. Smallmouth, largemouth, spotted bass — when the fishing gets tough and I’ve got to pick up a spinning rod, these are two baits I have a ton of confidence in.

But there ARE situations where one has an advantage over the other.

In this episode I’m breaking down three of the biggest things I look at before I make that decision — how the fish are feeding, water temperature and water clarity.

Are those fish feeding UP or feeding DOWN? Is the water warm or cold? Are you fishing dirty water or ultra-clear water?

Those little clues can completely change which finesse bait I pick up.

I’m also breaking down how I rig both of these baits, why their actions are so different, and how I fish them to imitate everything from crawfish and gobies to minnows and baitfish.

Tube jig or Ned rig?

This one was CLOSE!

Watch the whole thing, learn the scenarios, and the next time the bite gets tough you’ll know which one I’m reaching for.
