These are the days you dream of.

Day 1 on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, and everything comes together. I make a move into a deeper oxbow and immediately see it — shad everywhere. They’re flickering on the surface, getting pushed, and the bass are keyed in.

So I pick up a chatterbait with a Berkley PowerBait trailer and start matching the hatch…
