I’ll Never Forget This Day | NJ Winter Striper | PB's Shattered Bass Fishing Video

We were out off the coast of North Jersey with Scotty Sevins, chasing striped bass in true winter conditions—and as always, Scotty delivered.

This trip turned into one for the books. I landed one of the biggest striped bass I’ve ever caught, and Peter absolutely shattered his personal best. What makes it even better? Peter traveled all the way from Taiwan to fish with Scotty, and the bite showed up in a big way. Cold water, big fish, and moments you don’t rush through.

In this episode, we also put the **Abu Garcia Beast rod and reel series to the test. These setups are built for heavy freshwater applications like musky fishing and throwing big swimbaits—but they handled powerful winter stripers with no problem at all. Torque, backbone, control… the Beast lived up to its name.

After seeing how these rods and reels performed in the salt, I’ll definitely be putting them through their paces out here more often.
