Welcome to Going Ike — in this episode we’re on the road and on the water at the Bassmaster Elite Series event at Lake Guntersville in Alabama. This isn’t a full tournament breakdown — it’s more of a ride-along with the cameras rolling as Ike competes against the best anglers in the world on one of the most famous bass lakes on the planet.

Lake Guntersville is legendary for giant bass and big tournament weights, and early spring conditions had fish moving toward the spawn. That means changing weather, changing patterns, and a lot of pressure on the water as the Bassmaster Elite Series season kicks off on the Big G.

In this video you’ll get a look at the real tournament grind — the travel, the atmosphere around the event, time on the water, and what it’s like competing at the highest level of professional bass fishing.

Big congratulations to Hank Cherry, who won the event with an incredible four-day total of 88 pounds, 11 ounces and took home the trophy on one of the toughest and most iconic lakes in the country.

If you like seeing what the Bassmaster Elite Series is really like behind the scenes, this one’s for you.
