After an enormous catch on day 2, Mike pieced together 5 fish for 14lb. 14oz. on day 3, which moved him up to #2. Iaconelli entered day 4 less than 3lbs. behind leader Greg Hackney, who caught 25lbs. 7oz. on day 3.
On the final day, Mike managed a respectable 13lbs. 2oz. bag of bass, but it wasn't enough to overtake Hackney, or hold off the 2 circa 20lb. bags of John Crews and Skeet Reese.
Mike finished 4th (67lbs. 12oz.), behind tournament winner John Crews (72lbs. 6oz.), Skeet Reese (72lbs. 5oz.), and Greg Hackney (70lbs. 4oz.). Directly behind Mike was fellow Dick's Sporting Goods angler Shaw E. Grigsby (63lbs. 11oz.).
